Jasper Johns Stencil

I’ve worked with Jasper Johns and his numbers a lot over the years and making stencils was a great decision for the variety of ways we create with him in mind. The stencils they used were made from his 0 through 9, 1960 lithograph. I made ten copies of 0 through 9, so that I could trace each individual number using a bright marker and then I cut it out.

Materials:
+ photocopies of 0 through 9, 1960
+ marker
+ laminate
+ scissors

The laminate I used is quite thick, it's 3M 467 MP adhesive. I purchased a large roll from the Scrap Exchange years ago and have used it in a variety of ways- this being my favorite. You could also run your photocopies onto card stock and laminate them the regular way. These stencils are very sturdy and should last longer than normally laminated objects. Man, now I want to make some more stencils. Happy making!
