Valentine's Hexie Craft
Friday I painted some watercolor paper with some delicious reds, pinks, and violets. The color fields were spritzed with some watered-down gold liquid watercolor. The shimmer is amazing! I was feeling it for Valentine's day and wanted a little something to get crafty with. I used the Ellison Die Cut at school to punch out a stack of hexagons.
I played around with different formations of the hexies to see what suited my fancy- triangle, diamond, vertical, and horizontal arrangements. I decided to just create a full honeycomb with some white space in between. Using double sided tape, I adhered the hexagons to a piece of scrapbook paper that has a light grey geometric design. You can see the design up close which adds a fun touch. The frame is from IKEA and I replaced another watercolor piece that I had in it. It's really lovely. You can't miss with watercolor and simple geometric design. LOVE!
